"The wild regrets and bloody sweats,
None knew so well as I,
For he who lives more lives than one
More deaths than one must die !"

-Oscar Wilde (but I may be wrong)
unrelated..but your poem forcefully brought these lines to mind.

More deaths than one.....I wonder what you (poets who talk of multiple deaths) mean sometimes.

anonymous: hey... yup... not really related.. however.. speaking for what i have written.. sometimes you let go.. live the moment.. and its only later that you realize that you have somehow managed to lose more than what you gained.. that one spark of happiness somehow just ignited your whole life twice over...sometimes it is worth it.. even the gathered ashes feel like a prize...but sometimes it isn't.. and you just end up crying with hollow loneliness for company.. the body may die once.. as for your spirit.. your love... your trust in the world.. multiple deaths are not that uncommon...

there is always one. dint you know ?
there is always one.

"from the ashes a fire shall awaken,
a light from the darkness shall spring,
renewed shall be the blade that was broken,
and the crownless again shall be king !"

random, but somehow I associate with positive restarts :) and Ive taken to spouting random old lines - which I only vaguely remember - on your blog, so excuse me :)

"some for renown, on scraps of learning dote, and think they grow immortal as they quote" :P
